New Caledonia

From 19 to 31 March 2023

My second destination for 10 days, is New Caledonia, a group of islands in Melanesia and Oceania. New Caledonia has been under French sovereignty since 1853, its current institutional status recognizes a strong degree of autonomy and the right to self-determination following a process of building a common destiny between the indigenous people, the Kanaks, and the other communities of the archipelago resulting from waves of European immigration (“Caldoches”), Asian and Polynesian.
