Flying to the Islands of Bora Bora and Rangiroa

Bora Bora (Tahitian: Pora Pora) is an island group in the Leeward Islands which are part of the Society Islands of French Polynesia. Bora Bora has a total land area of 30.55 km2. The main island, located about 230 kilometres  northwest of Papeete, is surrounded by a lagoon and a barrier reef. In the center of the island are the remnants of an extinct volcano, rising to two peaks, Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu; the highest point is at 727 m.

Open air, baggage claim area !

The airport is located on the outer part of the barrier reef, we have to take a boat for a 25 minutes ride to the main island...

I had booked a "Renault Twizy", but got a chinese copy...

The Tuamotu Archipelago (French: Archipel des Tuamotu) are a French Polynesian chain of just under 80 islands and atolls in the southern Pacific Ocean. They constitute the largest chain of atolls in the world, extending (from northwest to southeast) over an area roughly the size of Western Europe. Their combined land area is 850 square kilometres.

Rangiroa (Tuamotuan for 'vast sky') is the largest atoll in the Tuamotus and one of the largest in the world (smaller than Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands and Huvadhu in the Maldives).
It is about 355 km northeast of Tahiti. Rangiroa is home to about 2,500 people on almost 80 km2. The chief town is Avatoru, in the atoll's northwest.

Hum... I look OK on this picture taken on my arrival there, BUT for the next 3 days of my stay on this atoll, I had a spike of Covid (2nd time!) and hardly went out of my guest-house...

This last picture is taken at the airport, before flying out...
