Taking a ferry to the Island of Moorea

Moorea (Tahitian: Moʻoreʻa), is a volcanic island in French Polynesia. It is one of the Windward Islands, a group that is part of the Society Islands, 17 kilometres northwest of Tahiti.

The name comes from the Tahitian word Moʻoreʻa, meaning "yellow lizard". An older name for the island is ʻAimeho, sometimes spelled ʻAimeo or ʻEimeo (among other spellings that were used by early visitors before Tahitian spelling was standardized). Early Western colonists and voyagers also referred to Moorea as York Island or Santo.

Moorea is not far from Tahiti, so I decided to take the ferry from Papeetee...

Upon arrival, I rented a scooter for 2 days to drive around the island...

Jeez, I never had such an exotic looking barber!
